B16 mounting question

I am swaping out my D16 for a B16 from a 95 Del Sol. I read in a Honda Swap manual that I need the rear engine bracket, as well as the left hand mount bracket as well. I have read on other sites that all I need is the 99 SI rear mount. Can anybody tell me which one is correct?

RE: B16 mounting question

What year is ur Civic? if it's a 6th generation civic then you'll need the 99-00 Civic SI rear mount, and you'll also need to get axles from a 94-Up Integra GSR or 99-Up Civic Si. And i hope u have the wiring harness for it witht the obd1 ecu. I did the same swap, but i had to get my harness customized. Good Luck

Yeah its an EK. I got axles for a 94 integra. Do I need to get the matching intermediate shaft? I ordered the engine from www.hmotorsonline.com . It says it comes with the wiring harness and ecu. I am going to order one of those obd2 to obd 1 adapters. I ordered the rear mount for the 99 SI and also the rear trans mount for the same application. I wasnt sure if i needed this mount as well so I got it just in case. I hope I get everything in order and it all goes well. Thanks for you help guys!

RE: B16 mounting question

you dont need to order an obd2 to obd1 adapter. if it comes with the harness and the ecu like you said then everything should be a straight plug in

Yeah I never thought of that! :D Good thing you guys are smarter with this stuff than me! Will I need the half shaft to go with the integra axles? Or will the del sol one work with it?

RE: B16 mounting question

Awesome! Thank you! I cant wait to start on it. Probably in a couple of weeks. Alot of people say I wont like the swap as much as I would a B18 but I think this should be a pretty good upgrade from the D16.

I do have one last question. Will I be able to use the del sol P/S pump with the EX rack and pinion or do I need to get a different p/s pump and bracket from a late model integra? Sorry for all the questions but I just want to be sure that I have everything together.

In answer to your question I lucked out. I work at Napa auto parts and got every thing just over $400 at my employee discount. Thats for the rear mount, rear trans mount, New axels, and I ordered a p/s pump just incase I need it. I think I will only need the axels and rear mount. The engine from hmotorsonline came out to 1,930 shipped.

RE: B16 mounting question

nope you dont need the del sol P/S pump, your stock one on your civic will work perfect. unless you want to change it cuz it went bad, but if it's fine then just leave it alone. I worked on the same swap but the place that i ordered my engine, sent me the wrong wiring harness, so i had to build one from scratch. 2months later it went dead on me, and now i'm lookin around for the correct wiring harness for the b16. I'll find it some where. Anywayz Good luck and hopefully they give u everything you need, unlike my messed up order, then you'll really be in trouble lol, have fun
