B16 SIR 1 OR B16 SIR 2
I JUST WANT TO KNOW IF ITS EVEN WORTH BUYING A SIR 1 MOTOR OR SHOULD I JUST SAVE MY MONEY AND BUY SIR 2 MOTOR. THE SECOND GEN B16 HAS 10 MORE HP BUT IT IS WORTH ATLEAST $700 MORE THAN THE FIRST. I JUST WANT UR OPINIONS ON WHAT I SHOULD DO. AND IF ANY BODY HAS ANY WEBSITES OR PERFORMANCE SHOP WHERE THEY HAVE GOOD PRICES COULD SOMEBODY HOOK A BROTHER UP.

RE: B16 SIR 1 OR B16 SIR 2
it all depends on what kind and year your car is. also, where do you live? in cali, smog legality is an issue.

RE: B16 SIR 1 OR B16 SIR 2
yeah, you'll need the wiring adapter, and its pretty pricey, youll also need a mount kit, and either a conversion kit for a cable clutch, or a hydrolic tranny. just go with the higher compression of the b16a2(SiRII) that will basically bolt into your car with factory honda/acura shift linkage and motor mounts. you can give Hasport a call @ 602.470.0065 , they were very helpful to me when i was doing my swap, even though i didnt end up buying anything from them.

RE: B16 SIR 1 OR B16 SIR 2
The SiR II isn't a B16a2, those ONLY came in 99-00 USDM Si and Canadian SiRs. Let me think about this for a second...
93 hatchbacks came with either a D15b7 (DX/LX), D15b8 (CX), D15z1 (VX), or a D16z6 (EX/Si) and all are OBD I. The easiest possible swap for you would to be to throw in a B16a SiR II as it is also OBD I. 170 hp > 70, 92, 102, 125 hp... yes sir. |
