Uh, old main bearings, loose crown, oncoming crank walk... it could be a number of things...

RE: b16a

crown?? i know what the others are. is crank walk repairable??( if im thinking the same thing you are that is)

i wont be able to afford to insure it for a couple of years anyway so it'll just sit in my garage getting rebuilt and tuned, i just dont want to buy a duff block

A crown is another word for a rod cap (the thing that holds the rod onto the crank...). And yes, crank walk is repairable. If it's gonna be sitting for a while, and it's a good deal, you might want to go for it.
