B18b Swap

Well I recently turned 16 and I’m getting my license most likely next week. My original plan was to get a GS-R but my dad says that’s to fast for me. So I told compromised with getting a 92-95 civic. My friends dad is a used car dealer so we get to go to those dealer auctions and get cars like 25-30% off of what the dealers sell there cars for on there lot. Chances are I wont get an si witch leaves me with a car with not a lot of engine. I wanted to go with a b16 but I don’t have a lot of money. I have a little over a thousand dollars and Ill be doing some work this summer. So I was trying get kind of a goal or something of how much money I would need to swap a b18b into a 92-95 civic. Like a basic estimate. As far as I know I would get a my engine from here, http://www.naganojapanese.com/jdm_b18bg1.htm . I’m not sure weather it worth spending the extra 100 dollars to get the B18B OBD-2 instead of the B18B OBD-1. I have been reading up on this stuff and its kind of hard to pull to gather a bunch of scattered information so can some one help me out with this maybe a link or something. I’m just trying to get some info on this swap and the cost.

Thanks

RE: B18b Swap

Are you planning on smogging it?

No OBD I is better.

Plus your car 92-95 will be OBD I
