B18C price
so one of my friends who has a turbo'd D hatch that outruns everything around my town built a B18C which he traded for his turbo setup. the guy who now has the engine has never put it in a car so there is a very well built B18C sitting in his garage. that guy needs a new tranny so he is trying to sell the engine and tranny and everything for $500. this B has O miles on it. i'm told its missing a few tranny parts but that is all, how does that price sound? i mean i know its a really good price, but would it be worth buying?

RE: B18C price
y not?
|
RE: B18C price
i'm thinking about buying it, getting some custom mounts and putting it in my car... even though everyone says it can't be done, i want to do it.

RE: B18C price
Thats going to be a rough swap. Personally Id but it and ebay it for more.
|
RE: B18C price
ebay's a good idea. why would the swap be so rough?
|
RE: B18C price
that engine doesnt swap well into your car. assuming that your car is the one in the signature?
|
RE: B18C price
i mean i know no one has done it yet, but i want to know why. yes mine's the 03 in my sig.
|
RE: B18C price
thatd be rough. sell it and putt he money towards a K. and when you say B18C...do you mean the GSR, USDM ITR, or JDM ITR?
|
RE: B18C price
does it matter anymore? its fully built. pm me the motors spec sheet, and we'll try to work out a deal.
|
RE: B18C price
oh i missed the 'very well built' part
|
RE: B18C price
go get a 4th gen andswap it into that....or likes sac's said... send him the sheet....

RE: B18C price
i'll have to get in touch with Wag to find out what all its got, it was his motor first.
i know no one has ever done that swap before and everyone says go with a K because they're the future of honda and all, but i'd still like to be the first person to put a B in an 7. here's what Wag just told me: it has brand new rods, pistons, its been heat-treated, has an LSVTEC swap kit on it which was like $170. it was built by AutoLabz here in Birmingham, has 0 miles on it. i'm not sure if the guy is selling the tranny with it or not, but Wag spent $1200 on just the tranny. he also said its one of the cleanest B18s he's ever seen, and it has a really really clean head. Wag said i could probably get $1200 off of just the motor. EDIT: i just found out its a B18A not C, sorry. The guy is selling the tranny with it for $500, but the trans is missing 2 small parts which he used on his trans. he said those parts would be about $80 from the stealership. |
RE: B18C price
well for 500 bucks i dont think u can go rong whit buying it and re-selling it for some more
|
RE: B18C price
Sounds like it was rebuilt with OEM parts. But buying and selling it isn't a bad idea.
|
RE: B18C price
The reasons it dont go in your generation of car good are because mounts, wiring harness, I dont know of any conversion harness's to be able to just put the ecu for that engine in it.
Buy it, take pics, and pm me the pics, I may be interested in it. |
RE: B18C price
dont put a B into a 7th gen. its more hassle than its worth.
|
RE: B18C price
yeah i agree with nail bunny... dont go thru so much hassle to drop a b18b into ur 03'. make some money on it by puttin it on ebay and invest in a k20. :)
|
RE: B18C price
u say its a b18a? dont you mean b18b ls vtec? buy it, flip it, smile and walk away.
|
RE: B18C price
i'm having to pay to get my license back this week, plus i got a driving while suspended ticket that i have to pay off. after that, i can buy it and sell it.
