Bang for the buck.
What going to give me the most power for my engine? I have a few ideas but i wanted to get s second opinon on what i should start with on my engine. it's a D16z6. Also i was wondering what is the best air intake system? Is there some that are better then others? there is a real price diffrence in some cases and i am not sure why i was just wondering.
thanks |
RE: Bang for the buck.
list the idea,or else just look around, people ask this all the time

RE: Bang for the buck.
with just 1000.00, i would do basic bolt ons and some head work. a mild cam (so you dont have to do valves, springs, retainers), a cam gear, and normal stuff, header, cai, exhaust should put you on the right track.

K i as look at some stuff like a Cam Gear. How does it make a difference? I am willing to spend money on things and like to but i am wonder what a diffrent one would do?

RE: Bang for the buck.
best bang for your buck would be a nitrous kit, if that's what you are into. If not then I would recommend the basics to get started... intake, header, exhaust.

RE: Bang for the buck.
alot of people go ahead and repalce the gear when they replace the cams, depending on how drastic the cam is over stock (lift duration). with a mild or stage one cam, i dont really think you would need it

RE: Bang for the buck.
one good thing to remeber is that if you get an adjustable cam gear leave it at stock until you can mess around with it on a dyno....

RE: Bang for the buck.
Dude you can get an upgrade to the twin-cam head for around $800, which should net over 10 horsepower.

RE: Bang for the buck.
a d16a head gaining hp over a sohc vtec head? i doubt it.

RE: Bang for the buck.
Is the D16 VTEC or Non-VTEC. If its not VTEC, why not just get a new VTEC head.
