Battery Relocation DIY
Does anyone have a DIY for a 7th gen battery relocation? I want to put it in my trunk but does anyone have experience with this kind of thing? Thanks!

RE: Battery Relocation DIY
You know, I was thinking about doing this, but you would have to run an extra 20lbs of cable to put it in the trunk so what's the point?

RE: Battery Relocation DIY
well he is wanting to do it because his intake is getting nuthing but hot dirty air where its at and he wants to clear some room for it(plus the weight isnt that big of a deal on a car with full interior) i can see where your coming from though

RE: Battery Relocation DIY
try this, its meant for a crx but it should be pretty much the same thing for all cars, just put it in the location of your choice

I never plan on racing my car at all so an extra 20lbs wont make a difference... I just want my intake to be better and removing the battery would look pretty cool! Thanks Skateman!

RE: Battery Relocation DIY
no prob bro. btw how can u drive with stripped interior? its so uncomfortable! id rather build the engine more rather than get rid of comfort features, lol. 20 lbs aint no thing, especially if 6lbs=1hp lost.

RE: Battery Relocation DIY
There is an actual weight=hp loss ratio? I did not know that...

RE: Battery Relocation DIY
i would not do that mod.
Honda had put the battery there for a reason (i dont know the reason) as well as bimmer had put their batt in the trunk. :) |
RE: Battery Relocation DIY
I did it and was happy. And no the cables dont weigh 20lbs.

RE: Battery Relocation DIY
I am going with a no. I don't like the idea of relocating it. Unless it's still in the engine bay somewhere. But if you do relocate it, you had better always use a dry bat, i.e. Kinetik or optima.
I have a friend at work that ran a 1400 kinetik in the front, and a 2400 or soemthing huge like that in the trunk, he ran cables to the stock front battery in the front of the car. Had to run it under the car because it was so fat. I just wouldn't be interested in doing all the wiring, but thats just my prespective I guess. |
