Beefing up my 97 EX

Hi Im a nobie and I've been reading for months and before I try anything I wanna get as much Info as I can.
I have a 97 civic ex stock, and I was wondering for a d16y8 engine can I get the car well over 200hp and still have it as a everyday driving car. I wanna beef the engine up so It holds up to a turbo. And how many PSI can the stock engine take? Thank You

First off, look in the Turbo/SuperC/N2O section, there are plenty of threads about how much a stock engine can take boost wise. Second, define well over 200hp, and is that wheel hp or crank? Third, anything is possible with enough money. And there is plenty of aftermarket support for that engine so you will definately be able to find quality parts to upgrade the engine internals. Though if you haven't already get an exhaust, 2.5" mandrel piping seems to be the agreed width for running a turbo.

I've got your exact car, and am about to turbo. Advertised hp for the kit I got is 210, but I'm hoping to get around 190-200 (Pretty sure its at the crank). This summer I'm installing all forged internals (Eagle rods, SRP pistons, Crower cam, MAYBE decked) and I'm upgrading the fuel management, hopefully to have 300+hp. Oh, and this is a daily driver.
