best gas miles

Default best gas miles

what can i do to my 95 honda civic dx to get the best possible gas milage

i advanced the timing and ran premium in mine and went from getting, on a city/highway mix, about 22-23 to an average of about 32-35, and i once calculated it on a road trip down from Reno (about a 4-5000 ft elevation drop) and i averaged over 50 mpg on the 1.5l. advance it to about 18* BTDC. but premium fuel is a must.

better air filter and or an intake helps (not that much) people also say a turbo helps too.

anything that will make your engine breathe better. intake, throttle body, intake manifold, header, exhaust...it will all give you better MPGs.

^ thats only usefull when you own a mustang.

Make the engine more efficient, make the car weigh less.

I followed Sacicons steps and advanced the timing, and I must say, the arrow doesnt seem to move much. Id say this would be the bigges bang for the buck since advancing timing doesnt cost anything!
