Default Best swap for the $$$$$?

I currently have a 99' Civic ex with a D16Y8, it has 43,000 miles and runs strong. I don't want to mess around with building it up, i think i'd rather save my money and do a swap. what is the best swap for my money? I was thinking about buying a b18 LS block and a b16 head for starters. Is this a bad combo? I want somethingI can find cheap but builds a lot of horsepower, im concentrating on the swap and don't really want to think about a turboor nitrous as of right now. I need lots of help.

Very clean car man! What kind of body kit and wheels are your rolling with, I really like the looks of both!

H22 swaps can be done for fairly cheap. My buddy just bought a wrecked 97 hatch that had a H22 in it for $500 and is getting it swapped for $800. I will let you know how it goes but it should put out some pretty decent numbers when its all said and done.

43K on a y8? I'd boost it......

But, LS/VTEC or H is the way to go. K is killer but ALOT of money and knowledge, B and H are both fairly similar (engine/tranny/linkage/mounts/ECU)

Wow lots of info guys, thanks for the compliments too. I havn't made up my mind on what im going to do yet. I thought about taking my D out and building it up. Thought about a turbo for it. Thought about just nitrous and some bolt on's. It all depends on what kind of deals I can get on parts and what sounds best to me.

One other question.. will my stock tranny bolt up to a B or H series engine? If so then i might just go my original route and build the ls/vtec. My thoughts are to build whatever engine I buy for lots of horsepower. I plan on adding parts as I go. anyone know where I can buy a manual with all the schmetacis for my car?

Thanks again.. appreciate the input
