RE: blue smoke
Tear it down, your burning oil, you need new rings and valve seals!
|
RE: blue smoke
You didn't use the same head studs did you? I would recommend getting ARP studs.
|
RE: blue smoke
ya same studs but it never smoked before burn no oil??
|
RE: blue smoke
Do you think Seafoam would help
|
RE: blue smoke
to a point^ if your already burning as bad as you say you are then it just might make things worse, you either have shot rings which i would do a compression test or valve seals that are leaking exsesive.

RE: blue smoke
do compression test. you may just need valve seals. they are doable with just taking off valve cover and camshafts on most cars.
you could also be running rich. usually front O2 sensor malfanction. if dry compression test gives low pressure and wet test gives pressure more than 15psi of dry test then your rings are worn. did you drive on low oil a lot? if pressure varies more than 15psi between cylinders then it's most likely broken piston rings. if it were head gasket you would smoke with white smoke. head gasket may be cheaper than new engine(depending how much stuff you need to take off from your engine to get to the head gasket). provided you do the job. broken piston rings ---> new engine. |
RE: blue smoke
Well depending on what engine you have, i wouldn't bother tearing it down, just get a new engine and do a swap

RE: blue smoke
When you take off the oil filler cap when its runningthere is like a lot of preasure blowing upin there.
