build on a D16y7
 
So i bought a 1997 honda civic hatchback DX non-vtec...and i was thinkin about doing a swap and such..but im still tryin to get some more ideas....Okay if i kep the D16y7, Im gunna build it what type of pistins and rods will fit and are good...and anything else i would need before boostin the D...

i am building a d16y7 check it out in the project section. you dont have to go THAT extreme but it can give you an idea

or you can sell the Y7 to me for some extra moneyz towards the swap!

some will say swap, some will say boost the d. it's up to you how you want to go about things. swapping will be less painful (most of the times), and boosting the d16y7 requires quite abit attention in order to boost properly. imo, a swap is easier considering you're looking at less miles on the engine, more room for improvement, and you can get vtec while you're at it, added displacement if wanted, better flowing head, and more reliablity (most of the time). both options will give you similar power outputs considering you invest the same amount of money.
