Which cam?
Buddy club spec III or skunk2 stage 1, skunk 2 pro +1?

RE: Which cam?
depends on your app

RE: Which cam?
skunk, and as far as stage, how much pwer do you want?
|
RE: Which cam?
and do you have money for valvesprings and retainers?
|
RE: Which cam?
Yeah i'll have money for retainers and springs and cam gears. If I get the buddy club cams/retainers/gears/springs, it'll be a few hundred bucks cheaper then skunk2 cams/retainers/gears/springs.
I may be wrong, but i believe i heard that skunk2s are more top end power, while the buddy club IIIs are more midrange cams with decent low and top end, but not quite as potent in the top end than skunk2s. I'd also love to get stage 2s, but wouldn't I have to boost compression on my b16a to at least around 11.1? I dont have the money to have someone install type-r/high comp pistons in yet. So I'll be running stock block for the time being. Should i get high comp valves with stage 1s/valvetrain? BTW: Later this month I'll be installing an injen cai, greddy 4-2-1 header, hks exhaust and ngk iridium plugs and wires. I also have a skunk2 im and skunk2 64mm tb on the way (which I'll have installed the same time as the cams). Car will be street/dyno tuned with a hondata s200. If its possible with the above mods plus stage 1s to get 160+ whp, i'll be satisfied for the time being. |
RE: Which cam?
get high comp valves, and a high comp head gasket from Mugen. im not sure of how much compression you get out of the valves, but the gasket will be .4, and it seems to me that the valves give you in the neighborhood of .5, so that would put you over 11. go stage 2. itll be worth it.

RE: Which cam?
a spoon head gasket is .45
|
RE: Which cam?
i meant added compression, not thickness.
