Cam Gear Cover???????
i want to take the cover off my cam gears(AEM) and cut/mill my valve cover in order to expose them some more (i seen it on a car on youtube and thought it looked neat). Anyone done this before?? Will it put more wear and tear on my timing belt? What do you guys think?

RE: Cam Gear Cover???????
I wouldn't do this. The cover is there for a reason - to protect timing belt from water and elements. And I don't think it's a good idea to tinker with timing belt on interference engine

RE: Cam Gear Cover???????
the cover is just plastic, so maybe get a custom plexiglass cover or somethin? That'd be soooo unique and so good man

do not remove it if ou are daily driving the car. go with the plexi glass idea. you will still be able to see it and it would be unique

RE: Cam Gear Cover???????
Jest because you cut it to show some of it, that doesnt mean a rock still cant get in there.

RE: Cam Gear Cover???????
Here you go, they have a GReddy clear timing cover, for a few honda B engines and the H22. http://www.importscene.com.au/prod800.htm |

RE: Cam Gear Cover???????
well if you have an adjustable cam gear, and are always messing with it , i wouldn't remove it, but i would cut a hole in it so you can access the bolts to adjust the gear. but the cover is there for a reason and should not be removed.
