cam gears

Default cam gears

Im getting aem adjustable cam gears for my 04 honda civic dx. what should i adjust the cam to. retard or advance if i want low end speed. what would be the best thing to do

You want to advance the timing.

You can pretty much advace the timing by twisting the distributor towards the fire wall. On the other hand with the cam gear, you have to be very carefull and precise when adjusting. 2-3 degrees is usually fine. But use a light. Dont forget to run premium.

7th gens don't have distributors .

If you don't have anything else installed on that motor, I'd save the money and start with the normal I/H/E. You won't see much from a cam gear on a bone stock motor.

^ I wasnt sure. Far as noticing it on a stock motor, you will. But bolt ons would help.

aem tru power pulleys, aem v2 intake, greddy cat back exhast, short throw shifter
