Cams

I'm looking for new cams for my 97 EX D16Y8 and good ideas for cams that aren't going to make me refinance a house?

hint: you only need one cam

what else is done to your car, what are your plans and goals?

sorry, had an extra 's' i know its an sohc, but right now, the only thing i have done to the engine is an injen short ram intake. eventually, i want to install a turbo but that wont happen for a while because im going to college. in the short term i might add fuel management components.

go with a stage 1 or 2 because you valve train wont like you very much if you like to rev high

^ Just the cam, no way. Now, you get a stage 2 cam, 3 angle valve job, and a p&p, you might see 40hp.
As far a SOHC cams go, you cant go wrong with skunk2 or Crower(my favorite) expect to pay around $300

RE: Cams

An aggressive cam(probably with stronger valvetrain to support it) + bolt ons could net 40hp easily once tuned, depending on how crappy the OEM equipment is.
