cam and shaft
Its all one piece. Read up on the cams. There are different stages, and with some you have to get upgraded valvetrain. HP gains vary, every little thing helps.

Check this out:

Should be really easy to understand, and should give you all kinds of useful information.

on a relativly stock motor (esp a SOHC) a new cam wont do THAT much. If youre not going to do more than that and get a tune, id say spend the 300 or so $ on something better.

Look into crower, and AEM makes a good cam gear fairly priced as well.

If youre willing to drop 280 bucks on ebay, Spoon makes good cam gears, but if not, AEM or Skunk2.

It's a pretty big job. You could tear your motor up if you don't know what you are doing.

A stage1 wouldnt' involve any valvetrain upgrade and with a cam gear you might see 15 horse if you already have I/H/E.
