Default Can I get power from a 1996 Honda Civic HX Coupe

Can I use the same block and same heads, or maybe same block but different heads and get power out of this 1996 Honda Civic HX Coupe? I want to rebuild the engine with some stock and some aftermarket parts. My budget isaround the $1500-2000, and then in a year I will turbo it.But for right nowif I can get power out of the 96 block I would like to use the block.

You have a D16Y5 VTEC-E making 115hp if I am correct. Well.....not all that much you can do to make it more powerful if you dont want to turbo yet. Really I mean with I/H/E and even a cam the thing is going to be low on power. Use that money to swap or turbo.

You could do a B20VTEC for that much...
