i just wanted to know, if you can get an ls engine and put a b16 head on it?
would it be just the same as getting a gsr and taking the head off and putting a b16 head on it? i really need to know
financial issues!!

RE: can it work
yes, you can put a b16 head on a ls block. you need to do some modification or buy a golden eagle vtec conversion setup. no, it's not the same as a b16 head on a gsr block. the gsr block is stronger, has a shorter stroke and higher compression, better bearings, better crank, oil squirters and won't require plumbing for vtec.

i plan on doing a similar conversion myself sometime in the future, what i was thinking on doing is just go out (at like the auto auctions or something)find a GSR that was smashed in the back end and then you have all your parts you need right there still might be a pretty penny though

RE: can it work
Yeah it would. You can also start shopping eBay for front clips and such, and check out www.sunrisejdmmotors.com. They're cheaper than most.

RE: can it work
If all you need is a quick band-aid you can slap the b16 head on and disable (meaning not hook up) VTEC. Then there is no need to worry about plumbing up oil lines, having the block fitted for squirters, running wires to your ecu, finding a VTEC ecu, blah, blah, blah, blah. That'd be the easiest way of doing things. There is absolutely no mechanical issues with disabling VTEC.
