CHeck engine light went on.
 

My check engine light went on last night I was in third gear, and hit my rev limiter then it all of a sudden went on, everything seems to be fine.

I would leave if there for atleast one weeek and see if anything happend. My Passport engine light went on 2yrs ago and i just leave it there for a while and then eventually if went off by ifself with out me doing anthing to it.

go to autozone and get a scanner and pull the code and see what it was, then you can erase the code with the scanner, and if it doesnt come back, then all is good. and try to stay out of the limiter.;)

it was a total accident hitting it usually i shift right in time. thanks. But what could go wrong anythign internal you think. or maybe a bad sensor the engine only has 32,000 miles on it. and i have only been riding for about 6,000

Hey man dont sweat it. Ive had mine on since 7,000 miles. Ive been told that some ecu are a little faulty. But every time I get it checked the dealer says its fine... im thinking that its my exhuast these days... o well cant say for sure until I replace it.

a lot of times it will come on when you get into the limiter. if you just reset it, it might go away, never to return.

Yea it stayed later my oil light started blinking, my engine was real screwed up, I spun a bearing and froze my crank and possibly threw a rod. But I got a obd-1 B18A1 ls non vtec I am building and I just need a b- series standard transmission.

just reset the ecu. you do this by unplugging the neg side of the battery. and if it comes back on then go to an auto parts store like pep boys. they have a pocket code reader. its like 76 bucks but will work on any obd2 system. they have them for both obd1 nd obd2 systems. good luck. thoes check engine lights are a bitch

I had exactly the same happen to me, hit my rev limiter in 3rd and the engine warning light came on,
if you turn your ignition off and on again it goes out.
It did it a few times and then stopped without me doing a thing.
it hasnt done it for about 8 months :)
