a single cam vtec is also a good engine to work with, you could build it with forged pistons and connecting rods, and then turbo it and make a ton of power. and the price is cheap because single cam engines are everywhere.

which sohc motor should i be looking at? or should i consider a mini me? all i know is i want a turbo, so i thought it would be smart to go b series. but i was also thinking d16y8. so i don't know.

B18a would be a good motor to start with. if you turbo a dohc vtec, it makes great power, but IMO, it kind of takes away from the vtec experience. it mutes the throaty sound you get from it, and gives it a far different powerband. and you can make great power from a b18a for a lot less money with a turbo. Ive had friends get b18as installed for around $1k. that half the price of a b16, and included install. and the LS motor responds well to boost.

Truth. Longer Rod stroke, more torque.

Not like hondas make much, but take what ya can get.
