crank pulley bolt

having some problems removing crank pulley bolt, any techniques that work anybody? Don't have access to a compressor so have to do it by hand, and I was just wondering, it's a standard right hand thread bolt right, wanna make sure I'm turning the right way, hate break the bolt in the crank. thanks.

Yes it's a standard right hand thread bolt, however I doubt you will get it off by hand. Honda crank pulley bolts have a habit of locking on tight. The last one I did, my 675 Foot pound impact wrench would not take it off. I had to go to a machine shop and have them loosen it for me. Good luck.

I have a chain wrench and plan to use that to take it off....but I have heard that it can be VERY TIGHT. I took the one off of my 85 toyota truck using a chain wrench.......

nice pic uaslavik!

I am on the boat now, and I have split open three 6 point 17mm sockets trying to loosen up that bolt [:@]

I'm going to try using an impact socket, hoping it won't break as easily.

my haynes says to use a chain wrench.. so i would not think it harmful, if used correctly!

I have seen people put the donut spare on and lower the car off the jack or lift and use a long cheater bar. Or you could get one of those hex wrenche things that go inside the bolt to hold it while you turn the crank bolt. I hav also heard people jab a big fat flat head into the teeth of the flywheel.
