Crankshaft will not spin!?!
What are you talking about? There is a timing belt tensioner situated next to the water pump. You loosen the tensioner bolt and then turn the crank counterclockwise to tension the belt. Are you aware of the proper procedure? Do you know how to torque the crank bolt (14-lbs-ft and 90 degree turn)?

Everything is in order.....how tight it 190ftlbs for a belt though? I do not have a tensioner but it is pretty darn tight right now. Everything is ready to be fired up as soon as I here the belt tension.
I am basically asking....with your finger as the gauge, how much 'give' am I looking for in the alternator belt? I am going to wait to install the power steering pump for now.....
Sorry for the confusion RonJ.....EVERYTHING is put back together. The timing belt is already set and on...engine mount....TB covers, engine oil....coolant, alternator.....EVERYTHING......
I am done installing everything and I am past the timing belt portion. My question was in regards to the alternator belt. I have already torqued down the cam pulley.....and yes 14ftlbs PLUS 90degree turn.....

just make sure the belt is tight. and YES YOU DO HAVE A TENSIONER!!!!!!
that pulley that is right to the left of the water pump and below the cam pulley with the bolt in the center of it IT IS THE TENSIONER!
it does not automatically keep the belt tight like most V8 motors do on the serpentine belt.
when i did mine i used a hammer handle to push on the tensioner and then tightened the tensioners bolt to keep it tight. and after you tighten up the tensioner and belt you need to roll the motor over back and forth at least 1 full turn for the tension to equalize thru all of the pulleys properly then you check the belts tension and if it loosens up then retighten it again and check again.
and that alternator is just a bit PITA just keep worken at it and youll get it. most likely its caught up on the wire harness or on the alternator brackets tip holding it up from going all the way towards the block.

she fired right up! I am very happy to hear the sound of an engine running like it should! Now all I need to do is throw on the powersteering pump and I should be ready for the test drive! Thanks for your help.....I would not be suprised if I have a couple of more questions coming up.
But thank you all very much for your help!

just be sure to check the timing. if you replace the timing belt its going to be off... and tho it runs it doesnt mean the belt is in the correct spot. i screwed up my belt by one or two teeth and it still ran but VERY DOGGIE if you hit the gas hard!
it was a PITA thats for sure. because then i had to take EVERYTHING OFF AGAIN to reset the belt over a tooth

Fortunately I took her for a test drive and she purrrred like a kitten. Ran so well I couldnt help but pat myself on the back and eat a cookie =)
I did notice that I did not tighten the powersteering belt enough so, I will handle that tomorrow. Everything else is perfect. Thanks again guys!
