So I've been looking to put a VTEC head on my D16y7, i dont know if I do it myself, but I was wondering what was needed.
If I'm not mistaken my current ECU is a p6 ? What ECU should I get ?
What work is needed on the block ?

I know there is probably a lot of thread about the D16y7 /d16y8 head but I'm looking more for the ECU, but every other information is welcome.

well i think you need to search "mini me" up there ^

but im bored in 6th hour so i'll help out a little bit. You need a d16y8 or z6 head and new gaskets. Many people also reccommend a y8 or z6 intkae manifold, timing belt and water pump. There is a big ol' write up in teh DIY section i beleive....

As far as ECU goes, you need a ECU from a y8 or z6 becasue without it, yeah u have the VTEC eqipped part but the ECU wont know what to do. the new ECU will engage the VTEC for you. You dont need tuning or anyhting, just an ECU that will engage VTEC.
