D-series build up

What is the best D-series build up as far as HP and Torque? I have a 97 CX with a D16Y7 can I use the bottom end for such a build up? I would like to keep the engine non-turbo for know but I am not against going with one just my wallet is. Thanks for all the help in advance! Also how hard would it be to change it from auto to 5 speed?

definitely going to be the z6 or y8! BTW turboing ur D is going to be the only real way to make power. N/A d-series are extremely expensive if you actually want to make decent numbers. So turboing is the cheapest option. And its much easier to just sell the auto and then but a manual, cheaper and easier, but yes u can swap an auto to a manual.

I'm not sure how much a auto to manual conversion costs.
If you wanna keep your non-vtec your not gonna get much power, if you do want some without turbing I would suggest the following

1st- Mini me swap.
2nd- E/H/I.

Thanks everyone! My first plan was to do the mini me swap and intake and exhaust. I have to do some cosmetic work to the car as well and am in no hurry as I am getting married in less than a month and funds are in short supply. Will the bottom end need any special attention for the mini me swap or if I turbo it such as special pistons or rods. I am decent at working on my own stuff with out problems I just do not want to bite off more than I can chew. I was a GM mechanic for 3 years and have worked on cars almost 20 years now so am capable of doing alot of the leg work myself. Do any of you know what kind of HP gain you get from the mini me swap and what the compression ratio changes to? I think the base HP on the D16Y7 is 106. So I am sure the head swap is worth the work plus the additoion of VTEC almost makes it worth it alone.

i have a mini me swap in my civic..and you go from 106 hp to i think its 126 or 127 hp and im not fure of the compression ratio changes to ..i kno it gets higher .and of course you get the loved v-tec lol
