d15 to d16y7 swap

I'm new to the Honda world. I am swapping a 1989 d15 out of my 3 door hatch and I've bought a 2000 d16y7 to install in it's place. 1 Will the tranny bolt up without any problems? 2 Am I going to have a lot of difficulty swapping over to MPFI from DPFI? I've done tons of swaps on other types of cars, ie (ford, chevy etc....) I'm just trying to get a feel for what I have gotten myself into. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

tranny should bolt up no problem, just remeber you are going from obd0 to obd2 which might be a pain but idk know what your experience is with computer stuff on imports... sounds like you can do it though:D

Huh? I've heard cable trans to hydraulic is a bish of a conversion.

Also, just so you know. The Y7 is kind of a dog. Weak engine (power wise, not structurally) and long gears. Gas is decent though. I drive it kinda rough and make ~33mpg city/highway. 40+ highway cruisin.

I am planning on putting the d16y7 in the car with the 4 speed that came in car originally. The Y7 goes about 106hp doesn't it? It a considerable improvement over th 90 that the d15 makes. I'm not really looking for a speed demon, just something that I can do some cruising with and get some decent mileage. Can I use the ODB 0 ecm that is in the car now to run the MPFI that is on the Y7 or would it be better to stay with the DPFI that came on the car?

MPFI is def the way to go. Also pick up a z6 or a y8 intake manifold for that y7. you might want to consider running an OBD1 ECU and wiring harness.

There are several article on wiring from DPFI to MPFI on this forum. Are they changing ECMs or are they using wiring into the original OBD 0? I was a bit unsure after reading. What is better about the OBD 1? By the way thanks for the info so far. It really helps to have the details before hand when doing this kind of thing.

Are the fuel maps on the OBD 1 better suited to the MPFI that is on the Y7? I can get a ECM off of a 90 SI, would that work better or be easier to install than converting my OBD 0?

I just know for sure that the y7 with a few slight changes will work with OBD1. I'm guestimating that converting an OBD2 engine to OBD0 is just more work than converting the car to OBD1
