Default d15b6 rpm

i know ive asked before in another post, its about the d15b6 only turning 5k rpm but i found somthing on d-series.org about the engine was

only designed to turn 5,000rpm i didnt know honda ever made a engine that did not turn at least 6,000, i figured this engine would turn

6,500-7,000 rpm been trying to find somthing wrong with it and cant other then it smokin. does anyone know if the 5k rpm is true or not for the d15b6

check the cap and rotor, my y7 didn't want to turn past 6K and had my puzzled forever until I cahnged those.

thanks fiirkan but i know what it is except mine has the oringal dpfi that was on the car on it some dumass put a b6 in it insted of the b2 (i think) that should be.

roto i had been thinkin about that and was going to put my old y7 cap androtoron it i think there the same have not looked yet but i will try that tomarrow

when i found the 5k thing on the other site i just thought i would ask on here and see what others said

so that the slow s$$ car might go somewhere, do u not turn over 5k in ur car?

weve taken the b6 up to 7500.........but of course the engine was bolted to an si tranny with an si head bolted on top with accompanying(sp?) parts). this makes for a very potent yet very very cheap set up. we put that set up into my buddies crx hf......it was potent enough to outrun my obd1 converted z6 swapped ef hatch pretty badly. the engine actually holds up pretty well in those rpms, and being the engine has lighter internals its a nice little screamer.

Given that peak hp occurs at 4500rpm, that is surprising final.

well i am gonna rebuild it this summer with a z6 head and pistions so it will have some more power plus it uses a quart of oil every 100miles,

its got great compression 195-200psi i guess mabey its got a broken oil ring or just worn out. i getting ready to go change the cap and rotor

ok the y7 cap and rotor do not fit, i did not remember what it looked like until i found it,so when i get some money again ill go buy new cap and rotor
