RE: d15b7 head swap

yes and yes the d16y8 is a good head to put on your motor because better then a d16z6 head. and also its a v-tec head buuuuuuuut [8D]your gonna have to get a comp or ecu for the v-tec if you dont have v-tec in your car which i think you dont. you can get a ecu from a any civic v-tec or get a APEXI for to control the v-tec. so yeh the y8 head is good i suggest you'll do it your gonna feel the difference with the v-tec good luck with the mini swap.[sm=smiley20.gif]

:)thanx for the info just gotta find a head in the uk some where. ur rite my motor aint got vtec so would Apexi V-AFC Version 2 be alright? and what sort of bhp gains will it give me?

RE: d15b7 head swap

well i dont really how much bhp you gonna get out of it. it depends on the head you get. heres a site for info on the swap http://crx.honda-perf.org/articles/z6swap/z6swap.html. also you know the is there another thing you can do to the motor to get some hp gain its another mini me swap. the d15b has a dual point fuel injection. you can put a intake manifold from a d16z6 or d16y8 the y8 intake manifold is bigger so i would say go with that and get that head to but the z6 head and manifold also is a good. soo i say all that would get you about 50 more horses? or more not sure never tested yet. the only thing i know is that the d15 motor has more compression so its a good combination. ummm yes your apexi can work very well with the v-tec and the cool thing about that lil comp is that you can make the v-tec kick in at anytime you want unlike getting the ecu which puts it at around 4000-5000 rpms. when you get the mini your gonna to change alot tho i got that site for you but from a what i know your gonna have to change your distrubitor because of the dpfi has to 2 wires i think and the multi has 4. also wiring the v-tec. well anyways if you need anything else just ask

50 is a little high, id say closer to 25-35. but on a light ass civic with the light ass sohc motor, thats a huge gain.
