Depends on stage of cameshaft, tune quality, and your plan for your car.

Well skunk only makes one camshaft for the d16, idk what block i have, its a 1997 civic ex, i plan on just doing my own port and polish and a cam and a valve job. Just for fun my 97 civic was totaled from the rear so now its just an engine stand, im buying a new 1999 civic soon, but till then im going to make my old d16 into a hobby. And if all is well ill swap it into my new civic. Or should i just save up and buy a b16.

b16's suck lol. I dont really think you should attempt a port and polish yourself if you dont even know what block u have. You have a D16Y8 btw. Where do you live? Because depending on where you live it might be illegal for you to put a 97 engine into a 99.
