D16a6 build

I have a 91 ex with a few minor mods. Im having a z6 intake ported and polished. and was wanting to know if the z6 cams will work in my a6 head I know the vtec wont work but if the stage 3 cams will it would help bunches.

sorry but the z6 cam wont even fit under the cam girdle. for a cheap cam upgrade you can contact delta cams and have them regrind your stock cam. cheapest route out would be to turbo your engine. my stg 3 crane cam was almost $450...........

I plan a turbo in the future but i have to get another car to drive cause i plan to build the motor and rebuild the trans with a limited slip. I was hoping i could make it a sleeper even under the hood but they just dont make part for the a6

Get you some p28 pistons. I think they will fit in the a6. 12:1 CR and a stock cam? 135+.

RE: D16a6 build

p28 would drop the compression......p29 or pm7's would take you to near 12:1 compression in an a6 with an a6 head. and yes a6 parts are rather harder to come across in comparison to the newer 92+ engines. although it is a great block to start off with being it has a 2 peice steel main girddle as opposed to the newer one peice aluminum girdle. for a cam you can look into delta cams, exospeed, crane.........if you just want something cheap and fun........pm7 pistons, crane stg 2 and arp headstuds will make for a potent yet very streetable set up for the a6.

Damn, I am off it tonight. P29's. I have a set sitting in my shed. Thanks for the pick up, Impact.
