D16Y8 Cam question

ok so i have a d16y8 and im looking to start replacing internals. right now im thinking of replacing the cam but i know nothing about it. the only mods i have on my car are intake and exhaust. what would a new cam do for my car also i am doing this to get my motor ready to boost it. any other suggestions of what to replace or do to my motor would be appreciated!

also i have read u can increase or decrease the degree of your camshaft, how exactly do u do this and would it help me any to change the degree on my stock camshaft?

Dont replace the cam unless you are really about to boost. Your stock cam is perfect for your car right now. After boost you could gain to change it but dont touch it now.

ok thanks for the reply, so besides a cam what else can i replace to get ready to boost my car, i only plan on running 6-8 psi until i can beef up the insides.

You can upgrade the pistons, and maybe get a performance timing belt.

Another thing to think about is the fact that your stock clutch, if you have a manual, will not last very long after you boost your car. So upgrading the clutch to a stage 1 or stage 2 would be beneficial.

Good luck!
