d16y8 question

I have decided to save some money for now and stick with my SOHC motor, and upgrade my cam, cam gear, throttle body, fuel rail and slap on the edelbrock turbo kit. I would like to know what are the best companies and upgrade sizes to go with, without have to worry about possible problems down the road. I'm not bias to sticking with just one company, so mix and match is possible with the right setup. I'd really appreciate any help, thanks.

RE: d16y8 question

No worries here rem. Lev my goal is to add more horsepower to my ride. I'm not aiming to be the fastest car in the world, unlike a lot of teenagers with mommy and daddy's money that have no concept of the value of a dollar. (Not trying to offend anyone). But at the same time, when an SRT-4 is side by side at a red light revving at me, I want to at least give him a good run. It is an everyday car, I dont want to have to run 95 octane or + just to keep it running right, because as you know, being basically stock, it loves the cheap old 89. I want to quite a bit of upgrading, without going into the swaps right now, or major internal work. I appreciate helping out the new guy.

RE: d16y8 question

if you go turbo, you will need to use the highest octane available at all times. is a buck a tank worth the engine? but unless you go really high compression or boost, 87 or 89 are fine. and if you are going to get a turbo, get a cam that is made for it. a normal performance cam will kill your power once you go turbo.
