d16z6 engine seized I think

I want to try and diagnose the problem myself, but I'm short on time, really short on time. My engine seized about a month ago on the highway, after pulling off to the side hearing a strange noise under the hood, turning off the car, trying to turn it back on and nothing turning over. My friend told me after looking at and trying to manually turn the timing belt with his wrench that the engine seemed to be seized. Could be a valve kissed a cylinder head, could be timing belt problem, could be oil starvation cuz I had a pretty bad oil leak.

I've looked around on the net for d16z6 engines that have under 100K miles and the cheapest I saw for around 50K miles was $850 plus $55 ground shipping from Texas to Illinois. Looked up rebuild kits on Ebay in case that's all I had to do and found two for the d16z6 from about $300 to $380 if I remember correctly.

But, like I said, running out of time. Gonna be going back to school this summer and need a daily driver, about 40 minutes and 40 back every day, mostly highway driving. Does anyone have an idea of how much I would get charged for parts and labor total price if I had a local shop do it (not Honda)?? Or if I supplied the engine and they just did labor?? I know some places actually put on a surcharge if you supply your own parts cuz of course they make money on the parts too.

Would be an awesome project but just don't have the time.

Thanks. Any info at all is much appreciated.

It cost me over $800 in parts, plus $250ish in machine work for the block, plus $500 labor, then the time/money to swap. In the end, it is cheaper to find a salvage engine to drop in.

i think it was harder to find a cherry picker to barrow then it was to find a used d16 on craigs list.and then youll have an extra block to stare at.
