Dont the manual transmission civics have more power? Sorry if itsa dumb question but whenever me and my friend race (he has auto I have manual same exact car and engine different color) I always end up beating him pretty bad. maybe hes just not pushing it or something? Oh and having a 7th gen civic doesnt give you much options by way of power. The D17A1 is one or the worst engine honda makes (performance wise). I dream for the day I can get a turbo K20 in mine.

M/T has 5 gears, A/T has 4, so it's probabaly due to the fact that its tighter gearing.

And yeah, D17's suck... In the end though, it's still a Honda, and the fun of building it is something that will always be enjoyable, and last for many years to come!

they have more wheel horsepower yes, because drivetrain loss is lower in manuals than autos
