Daily Driver

Ok got a question for you..........

Would a k20a2 engine be ok for a daily driver??

More specifically would it kill the fuel economy and would it be wasted in a daily driver.

Any answers or experience would be appreciated.

if you can afford it, then it would be fine, as long as it is installed correctly. the labor is very important. but i drive my gsr swapped 95 every day. and if done correctly, the K20 should be about the same. well. a little faster;)

Cool thanks for the reply.

What are the sort of things that can go wrong with installation??

Anything man. Swapping is not an easy task. Ive never done one and wouldnt attempt it alone. I recently changed valve springs and installed a new camshaft and even THAT was a bitch......cuz it was my first time. But installing a different motor is definetly a bigger challenge. Uve gotta worry about breaking axles and $hit.....and nowadays technology is a PITA too..........anything can go wrong.

indeed soo but at the same times its kinda easy. the only problem i would have is putting everything back together like wiring and reattaching hoses and bolts but if you plan out everything step-by-step it should be easy.

wiring is the worst. but you also have to remember that only one person on this forum has dealt with a K20 swap, and i dont know what year car you have, but if its pre-01, its going to be even more work. its worth it if you have the money and time, but those can both drag out. and there are all sorts of issues with that swap, even in a 7th gen. like the ecu has a chip in it that communicates with the ignition, and if it doesnt have the right chipped key, it wont start, so you have to bypass that. thats just one example.
