Differences in different enginesand compatibility...

Can someone walk me through the different engines and their pros and cons. also hp ratings would be nice. i have a 2000 civic lx sedan and i was wondering if all these engines would fit. i would like to know things like costs (used/ebay), hp ratings, and how they are for daily driving and the ratings they get. thank you very much.

You could get a B16A1 or A2 and these motors are out of civic SI's they have about 170 hp,or a B16B motor that comes out a civic type r and it has about 185 hp, or you could get a B18 series motor you could get the LS/Vtec motor that only has about 140 hp or a GSR that has baout 170 or a type R that has around 200hp. to get parts you would need intake and headers for that motor but that catback exhaust would have to be for your car(2000 civic) to fit underneath the car. for daily drivers they are like any other honda motor basically. need anything else? i hope i helped

wow thanks alot. what about zc and h22 motors? h22 are from preludes right? and how much would each one go for (ebay/used is good). thank you so much man. i actually found a 92-95 coupe at wholesaler price cuz it has engine problems, so that would be a good opportunity. i go to a tech school for the second half of my day where i take an auto body/painting class and they have some old cars that they sell to the community. sound like fun!

Good God man... get your specs right.

b16a2 came in the 99-00 Si, had 160 hp. The B16B has 185 hp, but you have to import it to get it since it's a JDM motor only.

An LS/VTEC power output setup will depend on what block and what head, pistons, and cams you use.

B18 Series motor you say? which one? the b18a or b18c series? B18c1 GSR has 170 hp, b18c5 USDM ITR motor has 195 hp.

As far as I know ANY D SERIES parts will bolt onto your d16y7, however as with all of these B series motors I mentioned NOTHING will bolt on.
