my question is i have i/h/e on my 1999 ex and i want to put a skunk2 stage 1 cam shaft and a cam gear in, and i was wondering if i could put it in or do i have to get it tuned to make sure its installed rite

 

stage 1 doesn't need tuned, stage 2 or higher does. Get a set of aftermarket springs and titanium retainers also to be safe.

 

if you want to make the most of it I'd get it tuned also check out www.akmee.com for a good head package for sohc's

 

how good are the akmee head packages will it make it idle bad

 

the Type S is like the crower stg 1 cam spec and the Type R kit is the crower stg 2 specs but they give you all the stuff to meet up with it half way. They have vids of the Type S cam package making 139whp and it idles fine.

 

what about the type r cam how would that do as far as a ever day car... will it idles ok too....or would that be more of a track car?

 

It will be fine if it is tuned correctly.

 

ok thanx. but i just found out that they will be out of the type r for a long time... so i should be ordering the type s kit with the pm7 pistons and rebuildin my y8 in about 3 to 4 weeks if ever thing go right
