DOHC V-Tech

what is a DOHC V-Tech?

RE: DOHC V-Tech

The DOHC part stands for Dual Over Head Camshafts.

Secondly, Sacicons says...

first off, its VTEC not VTECH. it stands for Variable valve Timing with Electronic Control.
It's Hondas way of changing the camshaft profile without changing cams.

Well, if you ave v-tec already then the only way to get DOHC is a motor swap. I believe the ZC motor is DOHC but it would be useless to trade yours for that one. The next best bet would be a "B" series. The B16 is what comes in the Si's and has 160Hp stock and tons of aftermarket support.

Sacicons says...

B16- high compression, low torque. great motor. is well suited to "low" budget builds (yeah, I know, its not cheap. im comparing it to other b motors.) takes well to mods. Good for FI, but keep boost levels low, as CR is too high for decent boost. early ones had cable trannys, later ones went to hydraulic
Someone else will have to give you an estimate because I am rockin' the "D".

Do a quick search on E-Bay. Type in "B16 swap."

Not to get too technical, but I believe it's actually Variable valve Timing and lift with Electronic Control

civic03 - dude i just put in a b16 in my 93 civic. very nice - i just got some aftermarket parts for it. alot of range and very cheap and easy to find. my opinion go with the b16 or b18 engines.
