I suppose if you had it spinning fast enough, it would work throughout the entire rpm range of the car. It would have to be spinning extremely fast though
Yeah, like 200,000 rpm...

i saw a huge argument a long time ago on another forum about these. the guys were talkin about them, and the person at the company found out and started talking to them about it. well, it turned into one of those really really long threads. basically, they never resolved it and what i got out of it is that if it produces up to 2-2.3 psi, then i would say thats the max, right? the max boost would be made at low rpm, because it is independent of engine rpm, so rpm of the sc would stay relatively consistent. then do you think that 2 psi will remain positive when you double or triple the rpms? i doubt it.

Yeah. Eventually, it would be sucking so hard on the fan that it would probably burn out the motor.

excuse me, I meant 18,000 rpm, but then again you guys are sying it isnt anything. Well in a good way I learned I would have wasted 200 smacks. But in a bad way, its too bad that it doesnt work because I think the concept of it is great. Thanks for the input guys!

Oh, I think the concept works in just about every area except for reliability. Trying to have an electric motor keep up with an IC engine would create problems withing a few thousand miles.

it would probably feel good till about 3000 rpm too, but then the fan is going to become a restriction. decent low-end torque, at the expense of massive amounts of high-end power.

Here is a link to an old auction of a supposed "authentic" electric supercharger. They even supply a dyno sheet. Any thoughts?

my friends want to hook a eletric leaf blower up to my car, I said they are nuts, maybe someone elses. They were goin to hook that to a power inverter and the blower to the stock air tubing and maybe it would work I dont know sounds like a bonehead idea myself, some guy online did it to his camaro and took a second off hios quarter time. Pretty good though just retarded looking.

I will have to agree that must be one hell of a jerry rig. But that also has to be dangerous. Im no expert on this but I do know if there is enought "blow" it will heat the engine up and ultimatly could be fatal for it.
