Engine Head Work
I am looking at buying a head for my 97 civic EX, the head has crower titanium valves and springs, and unorthodox adjustable gears. I would like to get it ported and bored but im not sure how much I should have it done, could you guys help me out. Also the guy was suggesting I have it polished, what exactly is polished and what does it do, also would I need to have my car taken to a dyno shop after these upgrades.

what kind of bottom end do you have is it stock? built? semi built?

when you add/remove more air into the cylinder head, you need more fuel to compensate, so yes, it should be tuned in the end to have any gains. |
My bottom end is bone stock, what kind of power gains might i expect from a head job.

anywhere from 5hp-25hp depending on the supporting mods. that bottom end you will only be able to get so far
