Default Engine Swap Questions

I have a 95 ex and was wondering what the best engine was to swap in. I was thinkin along the lines of a B18C and a very possible turbo set up in the future. Would this engine be better than a B16a? I didnt know if it was a possible swap if i wanted to turbo. Also would a jdm engine still be fine for boosting becuase of higher compression?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Oh and just to clarify i do want a v-tec. No reason not to. I know i need the tranny and most like an ecu i was just wondering which one would be better for boosting and a minimal amount of custom modifications. I would like their to be no custom modifications but whatever

they both have vtec in them and the two engines are very similiar. b18c weighs more than the b16 but it has 10 more hp. you will be able to boost both of these engines and the swap should be a straight drop in. sounds like you need to read up on more info. search about these two engines do see what will suit you the best.

Thanks i posted that then went and did my research haha. I think i might go wit the B18C1 just for the little extra power and IMO its worth the extra money. Thanks for the input

no problem, are you going to do the swap yourself or have a shop do it?

I was thinking of a shop. simply because i have no means to put the engine in. I would like to put the turbo on myself with some help from some buddies that have turbo experience. If i bought a complete turbo kit from GReddy would that be relatively easy to install? I have done engine modifications but never a turbo kit. Also do you know the hp gains wit that greddy turbo kit and the B18C1?

Also sorry i havent had much experience with motor swaps except reading about them. Would they require engine mounts wiring harness? Also it comes with a transmission...the GSR one which i assume would fit the 95 civic ex? Haha these are probably retarded questions...i just figure to come to someone that has personal experience and knowledge
