i bought a 96 civic ex they come wit the y8 it the kid blew the engine a buddy of mine has a obd 1y7 block i was gonna put the y8 head on the y7 block or the mini me swap wit the y8 intake but i was wondering if i would have to do and thing with the ecu since its already the vtec one....i was readin one of the other mini me right ups and he said someting bout the knock sensor between the obd 1 and obd2....but i do have a 97 y7 block to that i can get and i was wonderin if that might be the better way to go sense it is already obd2

All D16 blocks are the same. The OBD thing is just the wiring style. You can swap everything over from the blown up y8 and use all the same wiring/ecu/sensors. Just be sure to pull the knock sensor off the y8 block and swap it over too. It's on the back of the block near the top. y7s don't have them.

is there a spot on the back of the y7 block for it to thread in and thanks man

Yep, it's just empty on the y7 block. The sensor unscrews.
