Engine won't fire?
Sup guys I just bought a 91 honda civic with a newer engine, stock but only has 40,000 miles on it. I hooked up the wiring harness to it and we can't get it to bust over for teh life of us. Its turing fine, we checked the distbutor and its fine, its getting fuel? I have no clue why it won't start. Also on the wiring harness there was a black wire that forked off byitself, I'm assuming it was a ground? Thanks for any help.

RE: Engine won't fire?
check for spark. either using a timing light or pulling a plug out. Keep the plug cable on the plug and make sure the electrode is touching a metal part of the engine. If there is no spark start troubleshooting there.

check fire, fuel, timing, then go from there.

YA we checked all that last night, Timeing appears right, its getting spark, and fuel. THe only thing is the engine has been sitting for 4 months, so maybe the injectors are gummed up?

RE: Engine won't fire?
sometimes you have to crank on it a long time to get it to fire. when i di my b16, i had to crank for over 20 seconds. dont do it much longer than that, or youll overheat your starter. stop and let it cool for 5 minutes or so.

RE: Engine won't fire?
Ok I messed with it a little more, its got to be a fuel problem. I poured gas into the carb and it fired up and ran but died after it burned all the fuel up. Did it again and the same thing. The main fuel line is suppling fuel to the lower part of the carb when the key is on. I lost I have no clue why the fuel isn't going into the engine.
