Engine Work

So i think that i'm going on a roadtrip with some buddies ... which will give me time to put my car in the shop for some engine work ... I'm not that familiar with engine work and don't even know if its necessary for my goals. My goals are a fun car to drive with DD reliability. So i was thinking 150 - 160 HP but i'm not sure on a good number for that. Right now i just have a CAI and as of right now with performance mods i'm planning on finishing up the I/H/E combo and then save up for a new Intake Manifold and Throttle Body. So basically my question is ... What type of things should i do to the engine(if anything)? My car is a 99 EX ... thanks for all the suggestions!

RE: Engine Work

well if those are you're only goals id say that you should stick with th ebolt ons and maybe get a sweet cam. IMO this is the order you should do them in:

Exhaust
Header
Intake Manifold
Cam
TB

depending on what cam you look at getting you might need springs/valves/retainers...etc. look at crower stuff. check out their website. they give a pretty good rundown of their cams and should help you decide. they'll also tell you if you need aftermarket valvetrain too.
