RE: F20B SWAP
The swap itself is basically the same as doing an H22 swap. The engine is lighter but it still has the same angle difference, and it has a bit less torque. They're a bitch to find for a reasonable price though (expect to pay $3,000+ to get it all done), but you'd be one of but a few who had one, so that's almost reward enough.
That said, it's still a better motor than the H22. The block and sleeves are cast, and the rod/stroke ratio is more ideal for high revs and boost than the H22. Apparently you can run 12-15 psi on them with nothing more than new rods, even with the stock 11:1 CR. The rods seem to be the weakest point when it comes to boosting. The two people I do know who have them say the VTEC kicks in harder on that engine than any other. You can also use a lot of aftermarket parts for H22's on them (clutch, flywheel, headers, valvetrain, etc.). If you've got the money, go for it. |
