Default flywheels

I am looking into a light weight flywheell around 11 pounds, is this good for a d16 with no aftermarket internal guts. and over a period of time can it hurt my cars engine? And if not what else should I do with it.

Well, stock D series flywheels weigh less than 16 lbs, so you're really not losing that much weight.

Yeah, he was. Just to make sure I wasn't giving you a bunch of crap, I went out and weighed an extra one I have off a D16A6. It has been surfaced before so it is slightly lighter than stock, but it weighed in at 17.8 lbs. They might weigh up to 20 lbs, but no more than that.

i think its 18 stock, not sure though. but as long as its a good brand, so you know its balanced right, it wont hurt anything. i have a 9.46lb Exedy, and i love it.

How did it help with power and response and reliability? I use my car as a daily driver. And would it be bad to have for a couple yrs?

as long as you get a good one. it makes a big difference. it just makes the car more responsive to what you want. a little quicker to rev up. the biggest drawback is the loss in compression braking. but thats what the middle pedal is for.

A flywheel is a great mod, but not so great for a daily driver. No real power gains, but you will accelerate alot faster. Well worth the investment when you're done with the basics. (I/H/E)
