fuel efficiency
 

Just wanted to know if anyone has any advice on how to make the civic (99) even more fuel efficient by tweaking the engine, throttle body, etc. without having to spend more than $50 and without taking out my seats, etc. to reduce weight. Thanks!

more fuel economy with modifiying the engine? the car was built to get the best fuel economy it could while haveing some power, so i dont think your gunna get any better. why would you want more then 35mpg? an intake might free up a point or two, mabie exhast another point. but nuthin under 50 bux.

Well, everyone is worried about more power and faster cars, I think it would be kind of cool to go the other way and see just how much mpg you could pull out of one without spending excess amounts of money. I just like tinkering with the thing...

You should buy thse thing called "Restore". What it is you mix it in with your oil and its suppose to reduce fiction and help restore scratch in the cylinder. It acutally does work my mpg before i added that was 33mpg and after that 41mpg. Samething goes for my bro 88' Porsche 924s. 20mpg before and after that 29mpg.

I highly recommend using Restore.

I just brought some "Restore" so it better be good :D I was trying to pick what kind of oil thing to buy then i remembered this topic hehe
