Fuel Injector Problem
On my 97 Civic EX, I have trace the problem to the fuel injector #3. I see electrical signal (voltage) on the connector terminals but the cylinder does not get any fuel. I have three questions for those who are familiar with the engin and its repair:
1. Can the fuel injector repaired? Or is it better to get a new one. 2. Is it hard to replace a fuel injector? I am an above average weekend mechanic, but have not done any replacement on fuel injectors. 3. What book other than factory repair manual should I get to learn to replace/repair the injector? Any help from those who have done this type of work would be appreciated. Tom |
RE: Fuel Injector Problem
Assuming your EX is a D16Z6 SOHC VTEC. Replacing a fuel injector is very easy especially if you have a basic knowledge in fixing cars. The only tool that you need is a number 10 socket, a small extension, ratchet, and a small screwdriver to remove the injector clips. There is only about 5 small #10 bolts holding the injectors down. Let me know what engine you have and if you want me to hit you up on pictures. If it is really that bad, I have extra injectors for ya!!!! Later!!!!

RE: Fuel Injector Problem
thanks for your help. it wasn't too bad to remove injectors. i was kind of scared because i've never removed one before. i've sent the bad injector to clean/rcondition, and it should be back in a couple of days.
