Getting more power in a 2001 ex
I have a 2001ex and I was thinking about turboing it. How much would a turbo be(I have heard around $2000) and what kind should I look at putting in it? Or are there better way's to get more hp and torque out of my car for a lil bit more or cheaper than a turbo?

Unless you build a kit there are really only 2 choices in buying a kit, TSI or DZM; those kits will run upwards of $3k.

your other alternative for the same power is an engine swap...which will run 5-6 grand on your car.
7g's are POS cars for tuning. |

Well, if you turbo it a new exhaust will help. The thing most ppl dont really know is that the 7th gens are Torque monsters. Stock they have more torque than the previous engines and even more when you turbo the SOB. Our engines are soo cheap that you can buy a new one, build up the block, and turbo it for about 3500! We got tons of potental just waiting to have someone fully tap into it.

Definitely go for the turbo, I have an 02 EX and having put all 68000 miles on it there's no better power option than that. NOS will just let you flirt with real power while messing up the internals and bolt ons just dont do anything in these motors.
Of course, a K would be the best solution. |
