Going to a new cam!

Need help! I have a 94 civic Lx and wanting to put a bigger cam and valves in. Can anyone tell if i need to change my pistons and crank if i do this?

honestly, i wouldn't waste any money building a d15b7
do the mini-me swap, then consider a cam, valvetrain upgrade, and a build

btw, i don't even think they really make aftermarket cams for the d15b7

is this going to b your first mod to the internals of the car?

2fastcivic94 09-26-2008 02:49 PM

yes this will be my 1st mod for the internal.

im new to all this. whats a mini swap?

trustdestruction 09-26-2008 04:48 PM

mini-me swap is where you take the head of a D16Z6 and put it on your existing D15B7 block. You will gain the VTEC feature, and about 25HP.
Plus, there is a lot more after market support for the D16Z6 head internals

check out the DIY in the DIY drivetrain section

an all motor d series is like turtles having sex while on ecstasy...it may feel a lot better, but its still slow.

Please put your money into a mutual fund and not into cams/valvetrain.

If I were you, i'd do the mini-me swap, there is a sticky on it somewhere in these forums. Then you can decide if you want to go turbo (if you want 200whp+), its hard to make power N/A.
